This original Catholic poem is for anyone walking through despair and longing for hope. Through sacred imagery and classical Christian art, this film meditates on the heart of the Catholic faith: the Resurrection of Jesus Christ and the promise of our own resurrection. When suffering feels overwhelming, when the weight of the world presses in, the Cross and Resurrection remind us that despair is not the end. From creation and the fall of Adam and Eve, to the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, to the Passion, Crucifixion, and Resurrection of Christ, this poem proclaims the Gospel truth that by dying, Christ destroyed our death, and by rising, He restored our life. The resurrection gives meaning to human suffering. United to Christ’s sacrifice, our trials are not wasted. As Catholics, we believe the body and soul will one day be reunited, glorified, and transformed in Christ—where pain, sin, and death no longer have the final word. If you are struggling with despair, anxiety, suffering, or grief, this reflection is an invitation to prayer, hope, and trust in God’s redemptive love. “Where, O death, is your sting?” May this poem help you lift your eyes to heaven and remember that Christ is risen, and in Him, there is hope.
