More data appears. More facts. More details. You feel like the decision is getting smarter, but actually, nothing is improving. Information is replacing judgment. This is a thinking error called Information Bias. In this video, we explain why human beings have a tendency to seek out more information even when it will not affect the final decision or outcome—mistaking "effort" for "value." We often believe that more knowledge is always useful, but it often leads to Analysis Paralysis. You keep gathering data, reports grow longer, and charts multiply, yet the decision stays the same and action is delayed by unnecessary detail. Our brains do this because gathering data feels safer than deciding. Uncertainty is uncomfortable, so we use information to create motion without making progress. To stop this, you must focus on relevance. Before researching, ask yourself: "Will this new information actually change my decision?" If the answer is no, stop searching.
