740HP MCXtrema unleashed on track: Maserati's track-only toy testing at Misano Circuit!

During the recent test days organized by Kateyama at Misano Circuit, Maserati brought one of their new MCXtrema for a development session. The MCXtrema is an exclusive track-only toy which will be built in just 62 units, following the trend of many other supercars and hypercars manufacturers which provide an extreme track variant of their cars to be driven during scheduled track days and/or events. Of course it's based on the Maserati MC20, more precisely from the MC20 GT2 as the Xtrema adopts many components of this racing version, but thanks to the intense use of carbon fiber and the removal of many unnecessary components the MCXtrema is over 250 kg lighter than the MC20, stopping the scale at 1,250 kg. The Nettuno engine (a 3.0-liter twin-turbo, 90° V6) has been fitted with two new turbochargers, increasing the power output to 740hp, sent to the rear wheels via a 6-speed sequential manual transmission paired with a mechanical limited slip differential. #Maserati #MCXtrema #MaseratiMCXtrema ------------------------------------------------------------------------ I have to thank my friend and youtuber ‪@Italiansupercarvideo‬ for the great collaboration done during some of these events.
