And then the clean air comes through here, and actually goes into the area surrounding us. Creating areas which are around 75% more clean than the rest of the city. The city is routinely choked with pollution, which the tower's Dutch designer hopes to tackle with his innovative metal structure. STORYLINE In a city where smog routinely blankets the streets, a Dutch artist has offered an eccentric solution by creating a 7-meter (23-foot) metal structure that takes in smog and breathes out cleaner air. In Beijing's famous 798 arts district, Daan Roosegaarde has unveiled his newly designed Smog Free Tower comprised of 45 silver plates.
