DoK Town Hall | Open-Source Feature Stores for Enterprise MLOps

Curating the right features is as important to AI/ML as creating model structures and collecting the right data. In this talk, we’ll discuss recent work to bring the Feast feature store solution above the threshold for modern enterprise MLOps. We’ll explore the argument for feature storage and management in AI/ML work, and discuss the progress to revamp Feast as a first class feature store tool in the Kubeflow ecosystem. We’ll start with a brief review of what features are anyway, and why they are so important to AI/ML. We’ll discuss why feature ops should be cloud-native and open-source. We’ll look at how the Feast community, under new maintainers, is revamping work to fulfill the expanded vision. Finally, we will demo newly added enterprise functionality such as feature RBAC, tenancy, feature pipelines, cloud-native storage, feature monitoring, and Kubeflow integration.
