How do I know if I'm going through the Menopause? Knowing if you are going through the menopause usually involves identifying a combination of irregular periods and specific physical or emotional symptoms, typically starting between the ages of 45 and 55. The transition phase, known as perimenopause, can last for several years before your periods stop completely. Miss Lynne Robinson is a Consultant Gynaecologist based at Birmingham Women’s Hospital (BWH) with a private practice at The Priory Hospital Edgbaston. She graduated from Edinburgh University Medical School in 1996, earned an MD in Reproductive Medicine in 2003 and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 2019. Lynne leads the Birmingham Women’s Fertility Centre, one of the largest fertility units in the West Midlands, which includes the UK’s second largest Pre-Implantation Genetic Diagnosis clinic. She is a fertility expert specialising in subfertility assessment, IVF/ICSI, donor gamete treatments, and male fertility procedures including surgical sperm retrieval. Lynne also heads the Menopause and Reproductive Endocrine services at BWH, managing complex menopausal conditions and offering implant therapies.
