This string crossing exercise is from The Dounis Collection. It's from his Op. 27, called New Aids to the Technical Development of the Violinist. This is a fun and interesting way to practice a 2-octave scale in second and third positions that adds string crossing opportunities in a way that promotes independence of the bow from the left hand.
