This string crossing exercise is from The Dounis Collection. It's from his Op. 27, called New Aids to the Technical Development of the Violinist. This is a fun and interesting way to practice a 2-octave scale in second and third positions that adds string crossing opportunities in a way that promotes independence of the bow from the left hand. Dounis always emphasizes the importance of aiming to achieve technical freedom and "natural" technique through his exercises. 📘Get the Dounis Collection and learn more here: https://amzn.to/2SvVJK8 Dounis Playlist: • Practice🎻 | Dounis Daily Dozen: First Exer... 🎻Become a Founding Patron: / violinna 🔸BI-MONTHLY NEWSLETTER: Subscribers get highlights of my blog & videos, and exclusive resources from time to time.
