Today, as we present our 67th segment in this series, we are commencing a new topic, the 詠春拳訣 (‘Ving Tsun Kuen Kuit’), sometimes referred to as the “Songs” or “Maxims” of Ving Tsun. A great many of these exist, but not all are immediately relevant or applicable to the ‘WSLVT’ method, so we will be focussing on just those few that are of most importance in our approach to the system. Our first “Maxim” is 拳由心發 (‘Kuen Yau Saam Faat’), or “The Fist Comes From The Heart” and this expression can be interpreted on three distinct levels, as you will see in this clip.
