Vitina is located in mountainous Arcadia (Peloponnese), built at an altitude of 1,033 meters overlooking the fir-covered Mount Mainalo makes an ideal destination for all seasons. A winter resort for active people looking for adventure and winter sports but also a summer destination. Vitina evokes a feeling of awe, mystery and wilderness stemming from the mountain but also of hospitality, warmth and the mood for exploration. The inhabitants of Vitina took the lead in the Greek Revolution (1821) as a basic supply center. The center of the town is the beautiful central square with the remarkable church of Agios Tryphon, created by local craftsmen with the famous black marble. Next to it is the City Hall and most of the local taverns and cafes, but also the shops that sell local products (dairy, pasta, local woodwork, honey, herbs, nuts and legumes).
