This is Wipeout Fusion, the fifth game in the Wipeout series from Psygnosis and Studio Liverpool and the first to be on the PlayStation 2. Fusion is a very interesting game in the Wipeout franchise as it has different physics and camera angles, but one thing it does shine on is it's electronica soundtrack. It's techno music is pretty damn good for a futuristic anti-gravity combat arcade racing game. Wipeout Fusion takes place in the year 2160 revolves around the F9000 anti-gravity racing league with sixteen ships on track at once. Combat returns with machine guns, missiles, grenades, and other weapons along with a shitload of courses that can also be played in reversed and a lot of ships that vary in performance and can upgradable. Also keep in mind of the type of pilot you select for every ship as they can affect the performance as well. Each race is a three lap dash for first place, you'll want to enter pitlane each lap to recover your ship's shield energy by flying through it, which is commonly seen on track sides that are almost within proximity to the starting line.
