Mixing it up with Finns (who started ahead and were on their second beat) in 5-8 knots of seabreeze. Note the amount of sheet trim and sail adjusting with downhaul (forward of two control lines at both sides of deck) outhaul (aft of two lines) and vang (middle of boat), and how angle of heel stays pretty much the same throughout. By being hyper-vigilant about heel, one can feel every little puff or lull and respond accordingly. In these conditions (flat water, marginal-to-full hiking) and with boats around, one is constantly balancing height vs. forward speed. If one can squeeze in some height without losing pace, take it! Starting at 7:20, note the Finn to weather on starboard. He muffed the tack, but watch how the lightweight Aero accelerates forward in puffs and points in headers, quickly sailing through the dirty air of the much-heavier Finn.
