Flat brush # Good for: bold strokes, washes, filling wide spaces, impasto. can use edge for fine lines, straight edges and stripes. Filbert brush # Good for: blending, soft rounded edges like flower petals. this brush is sort of a combination of the rounds Fan brush # good for smoothing, blending, and feathering. synthetic hairs are better for textural effects, clouds, and leaves on trees. Anggular brush # Good for: curved strokes and filling corners. can reach small areas with tip. also can be used to cover lots of space, similar to flat brushes. SCRIPT LINER # A script liner has longer hairs than a regular liner, which makes it appropriate for doing fine lettering. By the way, using a script liner means you have to have a lot of brush control. DEERFOOT # The deerfoot stippler is also a texturing brush used for creating fur and foliage. It's round and the bristles are long on the toe and short on the heel, bringing to mind the shape of Bambi's foot. FAN BRUSH # The fan brush is flat with its bristles widely fanned out.
