Plainview Bear basketball hits the stage. Join Randall Cunningham, Howie Chaney, and Phil Harris live Wednesday, January 14 at 6pm cdt on Facebookand YouTube. Coach Cade Willingham's squad is currently 13-3 and ranked number one in Class 4A. The Bears are fresh off a 58-54 win over Gadsden City (22-3) last week. They avenged an earlier loss in December. Next up Plainview visits 7th ranked New Hope (14-4) in a key area matchup on Tuesday. Plainview leads 4A Area 16 with a 5-0 record. Coach Willingham plans to bring on senior members Cy Traylor, Jay Williams, Sawyer Wilborn, and Owen Hope. Plainview has already captured the Sand Mountain Tournament Championship. The ultimate goal is to capture that blue map and the 4A AHSAA state title. All goals are currently in place. We will recap the season so far, discuss what is in store for the Bears, get to know our student athletes, and their high expectations for the 2025-26 season. The Bears were state runner up in 2024-25 losing in the finals to Jackson (51-42). The Aggies are currently ranked number two in 4A. We are looking forward to having Coach Willingham on once again.
