Steel Pulse (Live) at the O2 Institute Birmingham, 14th March 2025 🎥 GT of My Boyz Beatz Films What an absolute masterclass of British reggae music! Wow I was gripped from the moment I walked in and saw my hometown friend Jacko Melody spinning a DJ set filled with songs that defined the Windrush generation tracks woven with themes of race discrimination, resilience, and the stereotypes that, sadly, still persist. If you were at this concert, you may not have even noticed, because the music was pure magic. The audience was a beautiful mix white, Asian, and African Caribbean men and women, all united by a love for the music, the vibes, and the culture. The band? Tight. Well-rehearsed. Electrifying. From their dance routines to the vocals, drums, and horns, every element came together with effortless precision. And the solos? Next level. The guitarist oh my days he could have walked into a Bob Marley ensemble years ago! Amlack (bass guitarist) whom I know very well delivered pure magic 🔥🔥. Selewn Brown on keyboards, narration, MC duties, and backing vocals? Flawless. Those chords, bro! David Hinds Steel Pulse’s legendary frontman never leaves the house without that perfectly tuned Les Paul 🔥🔥. King, your performance was pure class vocals, energy, movement everything was on point from start to finish. Guys, keep up the phenomenal work you just keep getting better and better. Thank you for an unforgettable night of British reggae music at its highest level. A Brief Addition: My book, The British Reggae Music Industry: A Windrush Legacy – My Story by Grantley Haynes, chronicles the British reggae movement, born from the African Caribbean diaspora migration that followed Britain’s post-WWII call for labor.
