I am doing a relatively casual playthrough of Pokemon Radical Red only using Bug types that have a BST (Base Stat Total) of 400 or less. This fight was against Brock. Well... I somehow won on my first attempt using only my bugs. Alolan Geodude: It will likely use Self Destruct. Though if it doesn't, the only move you should really be wary of is Rock Tomb followed by Spark. It has Sturdy and not Galvanize, so just be aware, taking it out Turn 1 is not possible. In my case, I pivoted from Beautifly to Nincada to bait Spark, but got Rock Tomb'd and then it self destruct. Varoom: Wait, this isn't a Rock type. Regardless, it is a Poison/Steel type. Any ground move can take it out relatively easily. Just remove it's Air Balloon, and it leaves it wide open. In my case, I popped the Air Balloon with Nincada and then sent in Dottler and used Psybeam which is neutral. It's not that bad to be honest. Onix: Onix is a joke as usual. But I set up Reflect with Dottler just in case, especially with what he has last. Sent in Beautifly to Mega Drain it to death, but it does have Sturdy and a Berry Juice. Finished it with Beedrill's Bug Bite because I dunno what I was expecting. Archen: The danger of the team... assuming it isn't in Defeatist range. Luckily Joltik has Electroweb to help neuter the ancient bird. My rules are simple: MGM Mode Base Radical Red Difficulty Bug Type Pokemon Only All Bug Type Pokemon must have a base stat total equal or less than 400.
