Sotheby’s is thrilled to present the greatest collection of Italian decorative arts ever to appear on the international market. Comprising of 160 lots, the landmark collection was acquired over three decades by Gianni Giordano for his magnificent villa in Piedmont, nestled in the renowned vineyards of the Alba region (where the Giordano family started producing wines in the 1900s). Testament to his passion for collecting, in tandem with this, Giordano has been meticulously assembling a Kunstkammer collection – considered by the select few who have seen it as among the most important in private hands. ‘This sale is the most important auction in the field of Italian decorative arts since the fabled Borghese Palace auction 1892.
