In today's video we take you on a full tour of a recently retired Boeing 747-400, during the course of the pandemic many airlines including British Airways, Virgin Atlantic and Quantas have retired their quad-engine planes due to the downturn in demand the pandemic has caused, shifting their priorities to more fuel efficient aircrafts. I’m not a plane or aircraft enthusiast so I apologise if I say wrong things in the video. Some key facts on this particular aircraft: It was registered as G-BNLY from 10th February 1993. It was the 959th 747 built at the Boeing Everett Factory on construction number 27090. Its inaugural flight was made on 25th January 1993 and delivered to British Airways on 10th February 1993. Its final revenue flight was made on 22nd March 2020 departing Cape Town (CPT), South Africa and landing in London Heathrow (LHR), England. Since entering the British Airways in 1993 it has operated 14016 flights having flown more than 122,358 hours and clocking up nearly 60 million miles. The tour was at Dunfold Aerodrome, this is the home of BBC's Top Gear, the show is filmed in the hangers and the airstrip and surrounding areas are used as the test track. During the tour we had the opportunity to get up, close and personal to almost the entirety of the plane from the wheels to the cockpit. We took a walk from all of the cabins, economy, premium economy, first and buiness class as well as going 'behind the scenes' in the cabin crew areas. Enjoy! #boeing747 #aircraft #aeroplane
