Welcome to Kadena Air Base! Prepare to watch a whole lot of action out of the busiest base in the Pacific. A high-tempo day unfolds at Kadena Air Base, the “Keystone of the Pacific,” as fighter aircraft dominate the flightline. This first video in the series focuses primarily on jet departures and recoveries, featuring visiting F-35A Lightning IIs from Hill AFB and Alaska-based units, alongside F-35Bs from VFA-121 “Green Knights” operating out of MCAS Iwakuni. Also captured are a pair of F-15Cs from the 67th Fighter Squadron “Fighting Cocks” launching from Kadena. These Eagles represent a transitional period for the 18th Wing, as both the 44th and 67th Fighter Squadrons have since begun shifting toward the F-15EX, with the legacy F-15Cs being retired or transferred to Air National Guard units. Kadena remains the largest and most active U.S. Air Force base in East Asia, and this fighter-heavy window perfectly illustrates its strategic importance within Pacific Air Forces.
