A 13 min video from pilot's perspective on a short Glider Pattern Tow to about 900 feet AGL (above ground level), in our case around 1,750 feet MSL (mean sea level). Tow aircraft is an old converted cropduster PA-25, Piper Pawnee, training glider is the very nice Blanik L-23 made in the former Czechoslovakia. Camera head mount was a few inches above my eyeline, therefore could not capture the rear view mirrors properly but if you look closely, there are a few places where you could see the wing of the Blanik in the right mirror right after takeoff and the whole side of the glider banking away just after release in the left mirror. Pattern tows are to acclimate the student to flying the airport circuit and landings, and hence the release is relatively low. Our usual release is around 3,000 feet AGL.
