My 2 year drum progress (without a drum set)

It feels like yesterday that I first picked up the sticks and gave drumming my best shot. It was back in April of 2023, and here is a video showing my 2nd year of drumming progress. I’m a huge fan of Alt Rock, Grunge, Pop Punk and Indie Rock. So my song choices reflect this. I still don’t own a drum kit. I practise around 5 hours a week, 3 hours on a practice pad and bass drum practice pad at home, and 2 hours on a full kit at a local rehearsal space. I live in an apartment so don’t really have the space or the ability to make much noise. In my second year I got myself a teacher. Which meant that I started learning notation more. This actually felt like it slowed down my progress, but it was necessary to push my further and understand the drums in more depth. Near the end of the 2nd year I started learning Rockschool Grade 3. I’m about to take the exam, so wish me luck. I hope that sharing my progress will help to inspire you, give you song ideas and give you an idea of what to learn next.
