It’s been 3 weeks since my brachioplasty and forearmplasty! I decided to extend the procedure to my forearms because there was enough skin laxity that they would’ve looked noticeably larger than my upper arms after removing the loose skin. Even though the loose skin on my forearms didn’t cause physical discomfort, I wanted a fresh start! For me, having scars without loose skin felt better than keeping loose skin without scars and I haven’t second-guessed that decision once. Right now, I’m not experiencing any pain. The only real discomfort comes when putting on or removing my 24/7 compression jacket, which I wear to help manage swelling. Some areas feel tender as I slide it on, especially near the incisions, but once it’s in place, I feel fine. I can tell my body is still healing, but it’s not painful or distracting in my day-to-day life. Mobility is still somewhat restricted. Reaching above my shoulders, behind my back, or even down toward the floor can be difficult. Stretching just slightly beyond my current range causes discomfort, particularly around the armpits and elbows. I’ve learned to squat instead of bend, and I use tools like a grabber or step stool to help me avoid unnecessary strain or risk to the incisions. My energy levels still dip more quickly than usual, but I’m feeling well enough to ease back into my normal routines. I’m mindful of how I move and avoid lifting anything over 5lbs. Even with the temporary limitations, I’ve found it easy to stay hopeful because each day brings a little more progress, a little more comfort and a little more freedom! Recovery can feel overwhelming in the beginning, but each time I go through this, I gain more trust in the process. I never set out to become a surgery recovery pro, but I think I’ve earned that title. Every single procedure has been worth it and if I had to, I would do it all again without hesitation! Working with @Drshawnmoshrefi and the @AdvancedLipedemaTreatment team makes the entire experience easier. I feel so deeply grateful to walk this journey with a team I trust so completely.#looseskin #looseskinsurgery #brachioplasty
