Tourism and Hospitality expert, Lindiwe Sangweni Siddo has published her first book, The Syndicate of Twenty-two Natives. The book opens a window into the life story of her father, the late Professor Stan Sangweni, into a past where his grandfather, with foresight and ingenuity, became part of The Syndicate of Twenty-two Natives. The group secured land for their families, including the families of his seven wives, and for succeeding generations at a time when Black people in South Africa were being systematically dispossessed of their land. Aldrin Sampear speaks to Siddo and her close family friend, Phola Mabizela-Mabaso who is a businesswoman and former government official. Tune into Newzroom Afrika DStv channel 405 for more.
