Old Enemy - Akira Volume (Shoji Meguro Rock PS2 Remix) | Shin Megami Tensei If...
This is a cover of Old Enemy - Akira Volume by Kenichi Tsuchiya from Shin Megami Tensei If.... Well, more accurately this is a cover of the version heard in Shin Megami Tensei IMAGINE, in the Shinjuku Wonder Underground. That remix also took cues from the version in Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne however, so really it's an amalgamation of all of the above. Just like my previous remixes, this has been done in the style of Meguro's rock battle tracks around the PS2 era of SMT games, as if Shin Megami Tensei If... released on the PS2 and this track was composed by Meguro. I'm playing through both Akira's route in SMT If... on PS1 and playing a whole lot of SMT IMAGINE at the moment and keep hearing this track in both places, but I think the IMAGINE version is fantastic and really inspired me to try and remix this track in Meguro's style (It also helps that UWG is one of my favourite runs in the game!). I had to take a few liberties with this one in order to try and turn in into more of a Meguro track, notably with the strings, piano, trumpet and of course, the signature guitar tone. I hope you enjoy!
