Gokul is a town in the Mathura district of the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It is located 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) south-east of Mathura. Ramanreti Ashram is a holy place located in Gokul where Lord Krishna used to play and graze cows during his childhood. The sand here is called "Raman Reti" and it is believed that this sand removes all the disorders of the body. The ashram also houses a Raman Bihari Ji temple, an ancient lake, and a zoo, which houses animals like deer and ostriches.
