In this competitive world, the main motivator for adults after education is to find a good job. Often, being able to communicate in English is a key requirement. However, once in employment, key professional skills such as communication, collaboration and critical thinking are key to keeping your job and being promoted. This is why educational institutions are integrating the teaching of these key professional skills, or employability skills, into their syllabuses, and English Language Teaching is no different. This session will explore what employability skills businesses are looking for and how we as ELT professionals can integrate them into our lessons as a key tool to help students learn English.
