We're celebrating horror history with today's installment of Sick Flicks, examining HG Lewis' seminal splatter film, Blood Feast! Released in 1963, Blood Feast has the distinction being cinema's first splatter movie. The first film in Lewis' Blood trilogy finds a crazed Egyptian caterer (Mal Arnold) carving up young women to create a feast for the goddess Ishtar. While the acting and technical filmmaking isn't exactly Oscar-caliber, Blood Feast definitely delivers on the gore. Can Lewis serve up a five barf bag buffet? You'll have to watch and find out.
