WCML Class 87 Setup and Drive Tutorial With Safety Systems
On the West Coast Main Line runs an electric locomotive beast known as the Class 87 which is a tap changing locomotive rather than the simpler throttle we're used to today. The locomotive isn't hard to drive but does need a bit of knowledge to get it moving and keep it moving. In this video I will give you an intro to the locomotive and how to set it up and drive with safety systems (this bit is optional) and then we take it for a drive and include how to cope with recovering from an emergency stop and how to manage the locomotive through neutral zones and finally braking for a station.
