this is a live guitar synthesizer loop improvisation. an improvised piece utilising the digitech time bender delay pedal, "the gemenon blues (long form)" is the first incarnation of the fully realised form that was begun with "desert power" and "distrans" as live guitar synth performances; developed into loop format in the two versions of "zensunni wanderers", and finally, when we reach this piece, into the fully evolved live loop + live solos + looped solos guitar synthesizer loop piece "the gemenon blues (long form)". the reason it is titled "long form" is that this version contains the complete "build", where the guitarist first plays a lively, dissonant intro using the voice "crims-o-tron"; then carefully and deliberately creates a full "crims-o-tron" background loop; then, plays live solos with the synth voice "poly distortion". after a couple of minutes of live soloing, the guitarist opens the loop again and carefully adds in a special section of "poly distortion" melodic information, which is overdubbed onto the original "crims-o-tron" loop; then locks the loop, and resumes live soloing again. a few seconds later, the "recorded" solo guitar joins the live guitar synth for a "duet" lasting perhaps a minute. then, because the loop is as dense as it needs to be, the guitarist stops playing, and lets the loop "run out". when the loop is stopped, however, the digitech time bender delay takes over, and provides an awesome, long outro which fades at a remarkably calm, slow pace...into nothingness. the "crims-o-tron" loop from this piece was saved, and used for the following video, the "short form" version, thus titled because instead of building the loop, the guitarist simply re-uses the loop from the "long form" backing. a completely improvised, unrehearsed, unplanned, live performance, captured as it happened, in the key of E minor, this is the seventh of several live improvs from the august 20, 2011 session; this is take one. recorded live on august 20, 2011. please visit www.pureambient.com for more information on this music.
