Warning! Rant about the map!: Well, this is my first attempt at making a Half-Life map and I will say that it has a multitude of flaws. Originally it was meant to be a morph of Doom and Half-Life however I decided I wanted to go a different route so the doom textures in the starting room - and the starting room in general - need to be changed drastically. The first open area also isn't any good. The ladder doesn't draw the eye so that needs to be changed. Also, the elevator and ramps have no purpose other than to have combat and ammo. If I were to somehow incorporate this with the journey to the ladder then I would be fairly satisfied. I need to learn where to place textures as it seems most of them either blend into each other or contrast so much that it hurts to look at. Also, I have a gman sequence but I want to make that more apparent to the player. There is just so much to do but I feel like it's a good start. And hey, when did completely redoing a part of a map hurt anyone. Rant over! I really have been wanting to make a proper video lately however whatever I put down doesn't stick so it may take a while. But I'll be streaming each day for the next few days on my twitch (twitch.tv/wingerscout) so you can catch me there as I might be working on the map or even a video.
