How's it going guys! Today I'm bringing you this video showing you the process of making an amazing barrel aged old fashioned. The key with this super classic is not to be afraid of bitters. Many, many bartenders I've trained and seen in action are scared of using them in the right proportions and end up just adding a few drops. We all have different palates and I just want to give you the tools to make your own. For your bitters I'd suggest no less than 4 good dashes (if your bottle is brand new it'll have to be way more than that because they come out at a slower rate). Do it in your measuring cup on top of the scale. You will then multiply that weight by half of the ounces in the bottle you're using. Example: If you have a 1.75L bottle = 59.17 oz Divided by 2 = 29.58 oz (we use 2 oz of whiskey per cocktail) 29.58 oz X the weight of your bitters you will add You will do the same operation with your orange bitters. I always use .25 oz of 2:1 heavy turbinado syrup for old fashioneds, and it will be the same operation. .25 oz X 29.58 oz = 7.39 oz Keep in mind that bitters separate from the solution so you should shake your barrel a little bit every now and then. If you're wondering where to get a barrel, I ordered my form this website: https://www.oakbarrelsltd.com Thank you for watching and I hope all of you find this video helpful! #oldfashioned #cocktails #cocktailrecipe #barrelaged #howtomake #bartender #whiskey #rye
