Mixing up various styles, the four tracks on her Purple Alien EP sees RayRay collaborating with fellow Barong Family members and vocalists from five different countries. Canadian duo Crisis Era lend their production sheen to the EP’s wild opening track ‘Ninja’, which features RayRay on the mic herself because, well, nobody tells her what to do. ‘Bang Bang’ has even more rap flavor with Dutch MC Emy Perez dropping a couple of verses over a slowed down dembow from Carribean co-producer Menasa. With ‘Like That’, RayRay and Amsterdam-based DJ/producer Gianni Marino have come up with boombastic hip-hop/trap track that is brought to life by Hong Kong singer/rapper Shimica. The EP visits another galaxy on the final track, a heavy dancefloor tune with Barong’s Parisian prince Slowbody. After replacing the vocal samples on the demo with her own voice, RayRay is turning up her otherworldly personality with the bass down low.
