#oshima #japan #tokyo Izu Oshima is a getaway Island for everyone living in Tokyo. The largest of the Izu Islands, Oshima is located east of the Izu Peninsula, around 100 kilometers from Tokyo. A large, still-active volcano dominates the island. With a landscape that's out of this world, it's a geologist's dream and an adventure playground for hikers and outdoor lovers. Two days is enough to cover the island. Most of the island is covered in forest, with Mount Mihara in the centre. Therefore most people live or stay around the coast. In this video, I try to cover the top things to see if you're only here for one day, based on the itinerary and ideas given to me by the local people.
