Betty Zhang highlights the importance of saving energy and reducing our carbon footprint. She encourages people to change their behavior by deleting unnecessary items from their shopping list, being mindful of returns, and even riding a bike to the mall instead of driving. Betty emphasizes that small changes in behavior can make a significant difference in energy conservation and building a brighter future for humanity. Betty Zhang is a Grade 5 student from Yew Wah Lingang, Shanghai. She practices playing the piano almost every day because she loves playing it. Due to her hard work and persistence, she has won multiple awards in different piano competitions. Not only does she play the piano but she is also trying her hand at the ukulele. In her free time, she practices the ukulele twice a week and aims to improve herself enough to be able to join competitions. She has reached dance level 9, and is practicing for level 10. In the school library, she likes reading books about animals. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
