Old neighbourhoods of Amman Jordan have an amazing network of old stairs that were very popular among residents in the past before automobile ownership became more and more widespread. You rarely ever see such stairs and pedestrian friendly streets in newer neighbourhoods constructed in the 1980's and beyond.
