I recorded this video just to show how this unique instrument sounds. The audio in the first 3 min was recorded through a condenser mic, i.e. acoustic sound. After the 3rd min you can check the electric sound recorded through an usb audio interface. I am not a "Brazilian viola" player. I do play the guitar but this is my first time really trying to play a viola. You can use this is instrument to improvise and create your own songs regardless the style. The most popular tunings are Open E and Open G. It's not hard to sound good when playing the viola, however it is VERY hard to master the techniques required to play Brazilian country music.
