Secondly, I discuss the importance of getting a long-term visa fast enough, something that I failed to do, and the resulting difficulties and expenses that ensued. Thirdly, I share the consequences of not obtaining a driver's license, which led to inconvenience and difficulties in transportation, especially when travelling to remote areas of the country. Fourthly, I highlight the importance of travelling around the country before settling down in one place, something that I did not do enough of before settling in Chiang Mai. Finally, I discuss the importance of learning to speak Thai fluently, which would have made my experience in Thailand more enjoyable and fulfilling.
