Dead Enders investigates a new scene on the block, The Priest’s Cottage. This Grade 2 listed building, constructed in 1905, replaced a Methodist Chapel that was first built in 1877. Whilst the premises in its majority has been used for commercial purposes since 1910, The Priest’s Cottage opened to the public in June 2025, but before that, these specific quarters had been long abandoned. Despite originally being a place of religious worship, the Priest’s Cottage holds some ungodly history. During the operation of the Methodist Chapel, 4 children were murdered by John, the Chapel’s Sunday School Teacher, whose actions were simply forgotten, after he funded their funerals. Having no true justice served, the building holds lots of residual energy, and the feeling of unrest. Something definitely remains here. In Part 1 of our explore around The Priest’s Cottage, we investigate the Living Room, said to make bangs on command. Followed by a session in the Nursery, where previously-recorded EVPs have captured laughter and whispers, with some investigators claiming to have felt a hand touch theirs during vigils. Afterwards, we do EVPs in the Priest’s Room and Bathroom, both reported to produce muffled voices and knocks, the Priest’s Room carrying feelings of heaviness and oppression.
