~ A group who relocated from their florida & mid-west base after touring under the name 'the beau gentry' but when changing the bands name to 'crowfoot' decided their fortunes lay in the bay area & san francisco music scene...moving to marin county december '68 as a three piece russell da shiell/rick jaeger & doug killmar they found work hard to come by but soon session work beckoned with appearances with A.B.Skhy & harvey mandel and a glorious classic single & album of norman greenbaum's 'spirit in the sky' with both bassist killmer and dasheill on board with dasheill supplying the huge fat fuzztone guitar! no recording contracts forthcoming but a solo deal came dasheill's way so with killmer jumping ship it was a proper solo album that 'crowfoot' released with dasheill playing everything except drums as that was rick jaeger...released in 1970 on the paramount label it showed off many facets of influences from country/folky-rock and here on this track superb fuzz-guitar...gigs were played at the fillmore west with the album recorded at wally heiders in hyde st. san francisco...later jaeger would join dave mason for many albums & live work plus playing on the tim davis record (ex steve miller) and the mill valley bunch record with mike bloomfield...a second record appeared in '71 'find the sun' as a new four piece but soon the band was no more...1994 saw jaeger/killmer & dasheill back after recording an e.p. 'messenger'...
