Boden faces wood

Boden is a small town in the far north of Sweden. Very far north. You can get there by night train from Stockholm on the line toward Narvik in Norway—if you enjoy long journeys, or simply have run out of other things to do. The trip is scenic, in the sense that there are many forests. Some say only forests. In fact, it’s possible you’ll begin to suspect the train is just circling the same patch of trees to save on scenery costs. Naturally, with all these trees, wood is a popular building material. In this short film, we try to capture the atmosphere of the place—accompanied by The Woods by Hollow Coves, and, because even Swedes know life isn’t all pine and spruce, the cheerful absurdity of The Teddy Bear’s Picnic.
