Case Binding is a form of bookbinding where the covers and the book block are constructed separately, lined up, and then glued together to form a single unit. The most delicate step in this process is the final one. Mess it up at that point and you'll be starting again from scratch. In this (low production) video, I demonstrate some very important tidbits that you may or may not have picked up from more in depth sources, such as hinge width, the importance of spine liners, and how to utilize opposing pressure to ensure a straight case-in. Black leather and white paste-downs made for some interesting camera shenanigans, so I apologize for the alternating dark and washed out frames. Go ask your local wedding photographer about it, they'll tell you it's an awful combination ;)
