The Palm Beach County Community Services Department is pleased to announce the launch of its inaugural Housing Leadership Academy—a dynamic, 9-month program designed to strengthen local leadership and build capacity among professionals working to address housing and homelessness in Palm Beach County, with the goal of creating lasting impact across the county. The Academy will engage participants in a comprehensive curriculum covering key topics such as housing instability, supportive services, housing development and financing, the role of government, Fair Housing laws, and advocacy. Participants will have opportunities to build cross-sector connections, deepen their expertise, and develop practical skills to advance affordable housing and homelessness response efforts. The Housing Leadership Academy is open to leaders and emerging leaders across all sectors—including nonprofit, government, business, education, healthcare, and philanthropy—who are passionate about advancing housing solutions and systems change in Palm Beach County. Applicants must demonstrate organizational or community support to participate and organizations are encouraged to nominate staff or support team members through mentorship and scheduling flexibility. Designed to cultivate a knowledgeable, action-oriented network of professionals and community leaders, the Academy aims to build capacity and drive meaningful, long-term impact within Palm Beach County’s housing system. By fostering collaboration and leadership development, the Academy serves as a catalyst for system improvement and stronger community outcomes. Program Details: • The Academy will meet monthly through in-person sessions. • Participants can expect a time commitment of approximately 6–8 hours per month. • A certificate of completion will be awarded at the end of the program and CEUs will be available through the Florida Certification Board. The Academy is being implemented in partnership with the Housing Leadership Council of Palm Beach County and Florida Atlantic University (FAU), which is supporting evaluation and strategic consultation to help measure program outcomes and strengthen future offerings.
