The Equitable Development Initiative (EDI) supports neighborhoods by fostering community leadership and funding projects that advance economic mobility, prevent displacement, build on local cultural assets, and develop healthy, connected, and safe communities. EDI works to ensure that public and private investments address past inequities, meet current community needs, and create opportunities for future growth. This program, guided by the City’s Equitable Development Framework, allocates over $20 million annually to projects and organizations addressing displacement and promoting equitable access to housing, jobs, education, parks, cultural expression, healthy food and other community needs and amenities. This year we will continue to fund existing EDI projects to close gaps and help projects enter operations. We will also fund new projects for both capacity building and capital. Make sure to pay attention to the funding guidelines as they have shifted from prior funding rounds. This information session was hosted by EDI staff members Giulia Pasciuto, Dakota Murray and Mishelle Oun. Visit our website to learn how to apply. Applications are due September 29, 2025, 11:59 p.m. https://www.seattle.gov/opcd/current-...
