This song popularly known as " Ara e gbeega" (brethren, praise Him) is a Yoruba " Gloria" that can be used at liturgical celebrations throughout the year except for Advent and Lent. It was recorded digitally in Ibadan in June of 2001 and some thousands of copies were sold. I started the composition of this song just after my priestly ordination in 1994 and completed it in 1999. St. Agustine parish, Ipetumodu, Nigeria, was the first community that sang it. I have seen various distorted versions of this song on youtube. Many genuinely concerned people in various countries have requested that I post the original. Hopefully, this posting will elucidate the cloud of confusion across the globe regarding the source and nature of the song.
