BMW's Original Superbikes: Together again and back on the track at Daytona!

In 1976, BMW Motorrad stunned everybody at the first AMA Superbike race, with Steve McLaughlin and Reg Pridmore finishing first and second on race-prepped R 90 S motorcycles. Reg went on to win the AMA Superbike championship that year on his Butler & Smith BMW. Gary Fisher was instrumental in getting BMW onto the track and the podium. All three riders' bikes were present at the 50th anniversary of that Daytona 200 race for a special celebration in 2026. Steve and Reg attended, as did Udo Geitl, one of the key mechanics who got these bikes around the track. Gary Fisher passed away in 2023, but one of his daughters joined the celebration and rode in Gary's leathers on the parade lap. In this video, you can see (and hear!) all three bikes being started, together at Daytona, for the first time in 50 years. They led a special parade lap, followed by over 100 BMWs and a whole bunch of other bikes!
