This is an electric G-class. The Mercedes EQG, as it was once called. It’s now, officially though, the Mercedes G580 with EQ Technology – which is a name no one will ever use. Either way, a big battery and quad motors turn every celeb’s favourite urban cruiser into an electric heavyweight with zero tailpipe emissions. The G580 name means it sits a rung below the G63 AMG model in the G-class range, but with over 800lb ft over torque and an electric motor for each wheel its party trick is on-the-spot ‘tank turns’.
