Toronto Police Service News Conference, Re: Three Arrests in Human Trafficking Case - 13 Year-Old Victim | TPS Sex Crimes Unit, Inspector Joanna Beaven-Desjardins Friday, November, 20th, 10:30AM Toronto Police Service Headquarters Media Gallery Background: On Monday, November 9, 2015, the Toronto Police Service investigated a Human Trafficking/Juvenile Prostitution occurrence. It is alleged that: Two men and a girl met a 13-year-old girl through Facebook, where their "friendship" grew while chatting. The girl was lured, and forced into the sex trade against her will by threats of violence. Between Tuesday, October 27, 2015, and Monday, November 9, 2015, she was taken by the three people to hotels and homes in Toronto, Niagara Falls and Guelph. The girl was photographed in various stages of undress, and these photos were posted on escort advertisements, and she was forced to hand over all the money to the three people. It is further alleged that the girl was sexually assaulted on three occasions by one of the men. On Wednesday, November 18, at 4:45 p.m., a search warrant was executed. Kahmal Howard Paris, 22 and Alico Allen, 19, and a girl, 17, all of Toronto, were arrested. Kahmal Howard Paris, 22, was charged with: 1) Trafficking of a Person under the age 18 years, Exercising Control 2) Financial/Material Benefit resulting from trafficking person under 18 3) Material Benefit from Sexual services provided by a Person Under 18 4) Procuring Exercising Control over a person under 18 5) Uttering Threats 6) three counts of Sexual Assault on a person under 16 years of age 7) Publish/Possess Obscene matter for Distribution 8) Make Child Pornography 9) Forcible Confinement 10) Trafficking in Persons Alico Allen, 19, was charged with: 1) Trafficking of a Person under the age 18 years 2) Procuring Exercising Control over a person under The girl, 17, was charged with: 1) Trafficking of a Person under the age 18 years Exercising Control 2) Procuring Exercising Control over a person under 3) Financial/Material Benefit resulting from trafficking person under 4) Material Benefit from Sexual services provided by a Person Under 18 5) Assault 6) Make Child Pornography 7) Publish/Possess Obscene matter for Distribution 8) Fail to Comply Recognizance The girl was also wanted in an unrelated matter and further charged with: 9) Robbery 10) Fail to Comply The girl's identity cannot be revealed under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act. Police believe there may be other victims. Police would like to encourage all affected individuals to come forward and report Human Trafficking occurrences to police.
