More progress on the Renobug! After fitting the rebuilt VW Beetle engine to the transmission, we go through the process of tuning it to get ready for the first startup. We adjust valve clearances, and install new spark plugs. After confirming correct firing order, we use 2 different methods to set static timing. The method using a spark plug is not often seen and is very accurate. After some initial carburetor adjustments, its time for the first start. A few interesting hiccups, but we get the Beetle engine purring in the end!
