Another recipe for horses; this time for skin medicine. I originally made this for an older horse of ours who suffered from various skin ailments. This should work for sweet itch, mild rain rot, and other mild equine skin issues. THIS RECIPE IS MEANT FOR SIMPLE, EASY-TO-TREAT SKIN PROBLEMS. THERE ARE NUMEROUS SKIN CONDITIONS THAT CAN OCCUR, AND IT'S RECOMMENDED YOU FAMILIARIZE YOURSELF WITH VARIOUS TYPES. This 'medicine' is applied either via spray bottle, or better yet, via soft rag dipped in this solution. If using a spray bottle, please be careful not to spray in the horse's sensitive areas, such as eyes, ears, etc. White Vinegar mixed with water is a good, cheap, and simple alternative option, but not shown here. RECIPE 64 oz Aloe juice (100% Aloe juice drink) 25 oz Mouth Wash (preferably the Listerine Gold/Original) 8 oz Mineral oil 12 oz Calamine Lotion 3 oz Neem Oil 3 oz Povidone Iodine (10%) And as with any and all of these types of concoctions, you need to make sure your horse/pet isn't allergic to any of its ingredients!!
