3D Scanning A Boat Hull with the EinScan H 3D Scanner | Scanning the Stapley Hull

In this video I am using the EinScan H handheld 3D scanner to 3D scan the hull of a wooden boat. The wooden boat is a Stapley ski race boat that I am currently restoring. I am going to be reverse engineering the hull to create mould sets that can be CNC cut and used to remanufacture a modern version of the boat. From the CAD design, which I do in Autodesk Fusion 360, I can calculate approximately what the costs would be to produce a new hull with modern construction techniques and materials. I used the Einscan H on the standard scanning mode and set the accuracy to medium which gives me a point cloud accuracy of 1mm. The Einscan H 3D scanner also captures the surface texture of the boat hull and applies it to the model so you get a full colour scan that can then be used for rendering or reverse engineering. The laptop I am using to run the scanner is an Alienware A51 with an Intel i9-9980HK processor, 64gb of RAM and an RTX2080 graphics card with 8gb memory.
