I continue my "How to Twirl a Baton" channel with the "Novice Baton Twirling" series by teaching my version of a thumb toss, also known as a Thumb Flip. This move is the proper way to throw a baton as it gives you the height and control you need in order to do all those awesome spins and tricks underneath a toss. This trick will also build up to more difficult, flashy twirls and tricks that you will learn later on through my channel. I go over this move step by step making sure to go over proper body work and technique. I start this trick off by teaching a thumb roll. This is the basis of a thumb toss as it teaches you how the baton is moving in order to get it into the air. Then I move on to teach how to actually toss the baton. I end with teaching how to do continuous thumb tosses by scooping the baton up between each toss. Additionally, I teach how to do this twirl in both the right and left hands to help all twirlers become well rounded and ambidextrous.
